Take Down Tobacco is a program of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Our National Day of Action is an opportunity for us to come together, stand up to Big Tobacco, expose the tricks this industry uses to lure kids into addiction, and call for change. With your participation, our collective voice is stronger.
Join Smokefree SC and teens across our state as they share their unique voices and creativity to let Big Tobacco know they have had enough! We are sponsoring an "Anti-Vaping Messaging Contest" for middle school and high school students across the state. Students can create any type of media content that can be publicly shared.
The focus of the content needs to be anything related to "Take Down Tobacco." Examples can include: anti-vaping, anti-tobacco, nicotine use awareness, tobacco industry lies, etc.
Media examples can include: social media posts, flyers, podcasts, journalism articles, TikTok videos, etc. We want to see your creative side; choose another type of media not on the list!
To enter the contest:
1) Create your content
2) Post it on your social media with #TakeDownTobacco
3) Post it on Instagram and tag us @Smokefree SC and #TakeDownTobacco
4) Email your content to terra@smokefreesc.org. Include your name, grade level, school, and preferred contact method.
All submissions must be received by March 31st. We will have 1st ($100), 2nd ($75), and 3rd ($50) place winners for both middle school and high school students.
